Introduction

Purpose

This section explains how to nominate gas and rank across contracts in PASSKEY.

Basic Concept

In this section, you will learn the step-by-step procedures for nominating both timely and intraday nominations on both SA (Supply Aggregation) and transportation service requester contracts. The basic theory of Ranking Across Contracts is also covered in this section.

How to Create and Modify an SA Nomination (Matrix)

Navigation

Navigate to the Nominations application and click the + (plus sign) to view the expanded contents of the application. Click the + (plus sign) next to the Nominations folder; then double-click the Nominations sub-folder to display the Nominations screen.

How To Select A Service Requester Contract

  1. Enter the Svc Req K, if known. Otherwise, click the drop-down menu in the Svc Req K field and select the appropriate contract. Click the OK button. The TSP, TSP Name, Analyst, Svc Req, Svc Req Name (or Agent Name) and TOS fields are updated by the system and are not editable.
  2. Click the drop-down menu in the Flow Date field and select the date from the calendar, or enter the date manually.
    NOTE: The next gas day is the default.
  3. Click the Retrieve button located in the Search Criteria area. All the nominations for the flow date for the service requester contract are displayed.

How To Create and Modify an SA Nomination (Matrix)

A nomination can be created or modified using the New feature, the Copy feature, or by revising an existing nomination. The three methods are explained below.

Method 1: How To Use the New Button to Insert a Row

  1. Click the New button at the bottom of the screen. A new row is inserted. The Beg Date/Time, End Date/Time, and TT fields are automatically populated.
  2. Tab to the Location field and enter the Pool Location, if known. Otherwise, click the drop-down menu and select the correct Location/Loc Prop from the Location Lookup pick list.
  3. Tab to UP/DN ID and enter the nine-digit Duns number, if known. Otherwise, click the UP/DN ID drop-down menu, type in the UP/DN name and click Retrieve. Highlight the appropriate name and click OK to populate the UP/DN ID and UP/DN Name fields.
  4. Tab to Quantity and enter the volume.
  5. Tab to Rank and enter the Rank (default is 500).
  6. Tab to the TT field and change the Transportation Type (default is 01).
  7. Tab to Package ID. Enter data if appropriate (optional).
  8. If the nomination is complete, click the Contracts tab; then click the Submit button. If the nomination is not ready to be submitted, click the Processing Functions drop-down menu; then select Save Work in Progress. (For complete details, see How to Save Work In Progress.)

Method 2: How To Use the Copy Button to Copy an Existing Row

  1. Highlight the row to be copied and click the Copy button at the bottom of the screen. A new row is inserted, and data is copied from the previous row.
  2. Edit the copied row as needed to create a new nomination.
  3. If the nomination is complete, click the Contracts tab; then click the Submit button. If the nomination is not ready to be submitted, click the Processing Functions drop-down menu; then select Save Work in Progress. (For complete details, see How to Save Work In Progress.)

Method 3: How To Modify Fields of an Existing Nomination

The following four key fields make a nomination unique: Location, UP/DN ID, TT, and Package ID. Any of the fields can be revised on an existing nomination to create a new nomination.

  1. Highlight a row that includes any of the four key fields that will be used in the new nomination. Modify the appropriate key field. (Any key field can be modified.)
  2. EXAMPLE: You can create a new nomination by changing the Location in an existing nomination.

  3. If the nomination is complete, click the Contract tab; then click the Submit button. If the nomination is not ready to be submitted, click the Processing Functions drop-down menu; then select Save Work in Progress. (For complete details, see How to Save Work In Progress.)
    NOTE: The nomination totals will be incorrect. See step 3 to view the new totals.
  4. Click the Totals tab and click the Sum button to view the totals. Select Retrieve located in the Search Criteria area to view the existing and modified nominations.

Tip: How To Use The Change Dates Function

The Change Dates Function can be used with all three methods.

  1. Click the Change Dates button and select a date change option. To change the date on specific routes, select Change All Modified. To change the date on all routes, select Change All.
  2. Enter the appropriate Beg Date, Beg Time and End Date; then click OK.

How To Remove a Nomination That Has Not Been Submitted

Highlight the appropriate nomination and click the Delete button.

NOTE: Nominations in a T or S status cannot be deleted.

How To View Nomination Totals by Contract

  1. Click the Totals tab. The Svc Req K and Flow Date are automatically populated.
  2. Click the Sum button. The Total Receipts and Deliveries are calculated.

How View Nomination Totals by Pool

  1. Click the Pool tab, enter the pooling meter, and press the Tab key.
  2. Click the Totals tab; then click the Sum button. The Total Receipts and Deliveries are calculated.

How to Create and Modify a Transportation Nomination (Matrix)

A nomination can be created or modified using the New feature, the Copy feature, or by revising an existing nomination. The three methods are explained below.

Method 1: How To Use the New Button to Insert a Row

  1. Click the New button at the bottom of the screen. A new row is inserted. The Beg Date/Time, End Date/Time, and TT fields are automatically populated.
  2. Click the Beg Time down arrow, select the appropriate cycle or hourly nomination from the drop-down menu and click OK. The Beg Time is updated on the new row. This field cannot be modified.
  3. NOTE: The End Date is changed to the next gas day. Intraday and Hourly nominations are only in effect for one gas day. If needed, a nomination for the following gas day must be submitted.

  4. Tab to the Receipt Location field and enter the Location, if known. Otherwise, click the drop-down menu, select the correct Location/Loc Prop from the Location Lookup pick list, and click OK.
  5. Tab to UP/DN ID and enter the nine-digit Duns number, if known. Otherwise, click the UP/DN ID drop-down menu, type in the UP/DN name and click Retrieve. Highlight the appropriate name and click OK to populate the UP/DN ID and UP/DN Name fields.
  6. Tab to Quantity (receipt) and enter the appropriate quantity if fuel is to be deducted.
  7. Tab to Rank and enter the appropriate Rank (default is 500).
  8. Tab to the TT field and change the Transportation Type (default is 01).
  9. Tab to the Package ID field. Enter data if appropriate (optional).
  10. Tab to the Delivery Location field and repeat steps for entering Location, UP/DN ID, Rank and Package ID.
  11. Tab to the Delivery Quantity field and click the Calculate Rates button. The adjusted receipts and deliveries will be calculated.
  12. For transportation nominations, click the Submit button if the nomination is ready to be submitted. If the nomination is not ready to be submitted, click the Processing Functions drop-down menu; then select Save Work in Progress. (For complete details, see How to Save Work In Progress.)

How To Create and Modify a Nomination Using Form

A nomination can be created or modified by using the New feature, using the Copy feature, or revising an existing nomination. The three methods are explained below.

NOTE: The form feature is used for data entry only. To Validate, Calculate Rate, View Totals, Save Work In Progress or Submit a nomination, click the Matrix button in the Search Criteria area to return to the Nominations screen.

  9. NOTE: When nominating pools and storage, each nomination should have only one receipt or delivery.

  10. Click the Matrix button in the Search Criteria area to return to the Nominations screen.

    For transportation nominations, click the Submit button if the nomination is ready to be submitted. If the nomination is not ready to be submitted, click the Processing Functions drop-down menu; then select Save Work in Progress. (For complete details, see How to Save Work In Progress.)

Ranking Across Contracts

Nominations Options

Purpose

This section explains the options available in PASSKEY.

Navigation

Navigate to the Nominations application and click the + (plus sign) to view the expanded contents of the application. Click the + (plus sign) next to the Nominations folder; then double-click the Nominations sub-folder to display the Nominations screen.

How To View Nominations Overview

The View Nominations Overview option displays all submitted nomination headers for a specific date or date range. You can view a particular service req k or all service req k’s.

  1. Click Options and select View Nominations Overview. The View Nominations Overview screen appears.
  2. Enter the contract number in the Svc Req K field to view nominations headers for a specific service package.
  3. Enter the From Beg Date and the To Beg Date to view the nomination headers for a particular date range.
    NOTE: The maximum date range is 31 days.
  4. Highlight the appropriate nomination header to view; then click the Retrieve button. The nominations are displayed. Make any necessary edits.
  5. If the nomination is ready to be submitted, click the Submit button. However, if the nomination is not ready to be submitted, select the Processing Function drop-down menu; then click Save Work in Progress.

How To View Contract Information

Provides you with contract MDQ based on AO and normal business delivery quantities. Also displays Leg MDQ, Zone Quantities and Primary Point Quantities.

How To View Quantity Summary

Provides nominated Total Receipts and Deliveries, total fuel (if fuel is to be deducted), authorized overrun and payback. Also available for Transportation, SA, Storage and Park and Loan contracts.

How To View Quantity by Location

Displays nominated quantities by Location Proprietary Code.

How To View Quantity by Up/Down ID

Provides total nominated quantities by Up/Down ID for a selected gas day.

How To View The Options Legend

Defines codes for Transaction Type, Nomination Cycle and Reduction Reason.


Processing Functions

Term Definition
Calculate Rates Calculates fuel when a nomination is validated or submitted.
Change Dates Changes dates on all rows or rows with modifications. User can set for only one day or for a date range.
Copy Copies all data from one row to a new row.
Delete Deletes an existing row that has not been submitted.
Filter Filters or removes specific types of data from long lists of mixed data. Filter operators (=, >, <, ≤ and ≥) are available from a drop-down list.
New Inserts a new row in the nomination.
Print Prints a copy of the nomination.
Help Help text for customers.
Retrieve Retrieves data of a submitted nomination.
Retrieve Work-in-Progress Retrieves nomination that has been saved as a "work-in-progress" but has yet to be submitted.
Save As Export a nomination and saves it as a file, such as a Word or Excel file.
Save Work-in-Progress Saves nomination changes in pending status. Row remains in a pending status until the customer submits the nomination.
Sort Sorts the order in which data is displayed.
Submit Submits the nomination to the service provider.
Undo Cancels the previous task.


How to Save a Work in Progress (SWIP)

Purpose

The Save Work in Progress function saves work that has been updated but not submitted. The updated row is saved as "Pending" in the Tennessee Gas Pipeline database.

Navigation

Navigate to the Nomination application and click the + (plus sign) to view the expanded contents of the application. Click the + (plus sign) next to the Nominations folder; then double-click the Nominations sub-folder to display the Nominations screen.

How To Save A Work in Progress

  1. Retrieve the Nomination and make necessary changes. The system automatically changes the status of these routes to pending (P).
  2. NOTE: When making changes, it may appear that the system is duplicating rows. However, when a row is submitted, it replaces the existing row and changes the status to submitted (T).

  3. Click the Processing Functions drop-down menu and select Save Work in Progress to save the pending nominations.

How To Remove a Route That Was Saved in the Work in Progress Area

  1. Retrieve the appropriate saved nomination.
    NOTE: Only rows that are submitted (T) or scheduled (S) appear.
  2. Click the Processing Functions drop-down menu and select Retrieve Work in Progress. All pending (P) rows are added to the top of the Nominations screen.
  3. Highlight the Pending Route (P status) to be removed and click Delete at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Click the Processing Functions drop-down menu and select Save Work in Progress.
    NOTE: Submitting a nomination that was previously saved does not eliminate the nomination from the Work in Progress database.
  5. Click Save Work in Progress to clear pending nominations from the Work in Progress area for that date.

How to Retrieve a Work in Progress (RWIP)

Purpose

The Retrieve Work in Progress function retrieves pending nominations from Tennessee Gas Pipeline’s database for review before submitting.

Navigation

Navigate to the Nominations application and click the + (plus sign) to view the expanded contents of the application. Click the + (plus sign) next to the Nominations folder; then double-click the Nominations sub-folder to display the Nominations screen.

How To Retrieve and Revise a Nomination

  1. Click the Retrieve button on the right side of the screen. All the submitted (T) and scheduled (S) nominations for the flow date for the service req contract are displayed.
  2. Click the Processing Functions drop-down menu and select Retrieve Work in Progress. All pending (P) rows are displayed at the top of the nomination screen.
  3. Review the nomination and make necessary changes.
  4. Click the Totals tab to view the MDQ for the nomination. Click the Sum button to calculate the adjusted total receipts and deliveries for the nomination.
    NOTE: Volumes may appear to be overstated; they will be corrected when the nomination is submitted.
  5. If the nomination is ready to be submitted, click the Submit button.
  6. Click Save Work in Progress to clear the pending nominations from the Work in Progress area for that date.

How to Use the Save As Function

Purpose

The Save As function exports a nomination and saves it to a Word or Excel file.

How To Use The Save As Function

  1. Retrieve the appropriate nomination.
  2. Click the Processing Functions drop-down menu and select Save As. The Export Data Wizard box appears.
  3. The Export Data Wizard box allows you to select how to export the data. Select the appropriate delimiter to export data (e.g., comma, semicolon, space or tab. The default delimiter is comma.) Click Next to display the Export Data to File box.
  4. Enter the appropriate Path and File Name for the exported data and click Save.

How to Print a Nomination

Purpose

The Print function prints a copy of the nomination.

Navigation

Navigate to the Nominations application and click the + (plus sign) to view the expanded contents of the application. Click the + (plus sign) next to the Nominations folder; then double-click the Nominations sub-folder to display the Nominations screen.

How To Print a Nomination

  1. Retrieve the nomination.
  2. Click the Print button at the bottom of the screen. The Automation Server Browser appears.
  3. Click the Refresh Icon (lightning bolt).
  4. Click the Print Icon to display the Print Command Box.
    NOTE: Do not select File, then Print.
  5. Revise the Print Range and Number of Copies fields, if needed, and click OK.

    NOTE:
    Only nominations in a submitted (T) or scheduled (S) status are printed. Nominations in a pending (P) status will not print.

How To Use The Change Dates Function

  1. Retrieve the nomination.
  2. Click the Change Dates button at the bottom of the screen to display the Change Dates box.

    The two methods for changing route dates, Change All Modified (default) and Change All, are described below.

Method 1: Change All Modified

  1. Click the Beg Date drop-down calendar and select the appropriate Beg Date or manually enter the date.
  2. Click the Beg Time drop-down menu and select the appropriate Flow Cycle or manually enter the date.
  3. Click the End Date drop-down calendar and select the appropriate End Date.
    NOTE: The default date is the last day of the month. The default end date is the last flow date for the month unless Cycle 1, Cycle 2 or Hourly Cycle is selected. Intraday and hourly nominations are only effective for one day.
  4. Click the OK button, and the Change Dates function is activated. When the Change Dates function is activated, a message is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen.
  5. Highlight a row that needs revision, and make the appropriate changes. Press the Tab key to modify the Beg and End Date and to navigate to the next row that needs revision.
  6. Click the Submit button to complete the nomination.
  7. Click the Totals tab to view the MDQ for the nomination. Then click the Sum button to calculate the adjusted Total Receipts and Deliveries for the nomination.

Method 2: Change All

  1. Click the Change Dates button to display the Change Dates box.
  2. Click the Change All option and click OK. The dates and times for all routes will change immediately.
