Agency Contract
Agreement that allows a company to contract with another company for specified services. Services can include confirmations, nominations, billing, reports, and creating/amending contracts.
Agent
A customer who has the contracted right to confirm gas, nominate gas, amend contracts, bid release capacities, and/or receive bills, as specified in the agency contract.
Allocate
The application of predetermined allocation rules to meter flow in order to split gas flow among parties at a location prop.
Amendment
Change to service requester contract.
Approved Date/Time Approved User
If a nomination must be approved out of a screen (by an analyst), this field populates with the analyst’s ID and with the date and time approved.
Assignee
Party that receives assigned capacity from another party.
Assignment
Transfer of interest in a property or contract from one party to another. In the Order 636 environment, under certain types of services, customers have the right to assign their capacity to third parties.
Assignor
Party that transfers capacity to another party.
Audit ID
ID number that specifies a particular route; this route is based on the Up/Dn Loc Prop, Up/Dn ID, and the Transaction Type. Once assigned, this number does not change.
Authorized Overrun Volumes
Volumes of gas delivered to the customer in excess of the contract quantity.
Balancing Agreement
Contract governing the allocation of imbalances at applicable points on Tennessee Gas Pipeline's system including (as the context requires) Operator Balancing Agreements, Producer Balancing Agreements, Comprehensive Balancing Agreements, Pipeline Balancing Agreements, and Balancing Agreements with aggregators.
Balance Indicator Box (Bal)
This box populates with Y is a balanced correction was performed and a N if an unbalanced correction was performed.
Beginning Date/Time
The date and time a transaction is to be initiated (includes century).
Broken Chain
Term used to describe a break in the nomination chain. All parties in the chain must nominate or confirm before gas can be scheduled. If the chain is not corrected, the lowest volume in the chain drives what is scheduled.
Bumping
Process that allows a customer with Firm gas to increase volumes even if a lower priority service package - such as interruptible transportation (IT) - must be reduced.
Capacity Assignment
Also known as Permanent Assignment. A process that allows a customer to permanently assign all or a portion of a firm contract to another party, resulting in the termination of all or a portion of the assignor's contract and the execution of a new contract with the assignee.
Capacity Release
A process that allows FT-A, FT-G, FT-BH, NET-284 and FS contract holders to release all or a portion of their firm contracts to third parties on a non-permanent basis, resulting in a temporary reduction of the releaser's contract and the execution of a new contract with the releasee.
Capacity Restriction
Reduction of gas receipts or deliveries due to a meter or pipeline section being over-nominated.
Capacity Type
Identifier of primary or secondary capacity rights. Valid types are:
- Primary to Primary
- Primary to Secondary
- Secondary to Secondary
- Secondary to Primary
- Tertiary to Primary
- Tertiary to Secondary
Cash Out
Monetary settlement made to eliminate/settle an imbalance.
Cash Out Indicator
An indicator used by downstream systems to determine whether a Load Management Service – Pipeline (LMS-PL) contract will be cashed out. The Cash Out indicator is displayed in the contract system. Applicable to LMS-PL contracts only.
Cash Out Information
Invoice information needed to support an imbalance Cash Out. The information includes the Cash Out price, volume, penalty tiers, contract number, and meter/point information.
Central Clock Time
Actual time of day in the Central time zone, regardless of standard time or daylight savings time.
Change Quantity
Difference between previous scheduled (Prev Qty) and nominated quantity (Nom Qty).
Change User/Time Stamp
Date and time when data left the service requester’s control. Identifies who submitted the nomination or confirmation.
Charge Type
Code identifying the type of charge associated with a service package. Also known as Type of Charge (TOC).
Chart Time
9:00 a.m. Central Clock Time.
City Gate
Physical location where gas is delivered by a pipeline to a local distribution company (LDC).
Commodity Charge
Charge per unit of gas transported by pipeline.
Condensate
Liquids that come out of the wellstream and are separated at the processing plant.
Confirmation By Exception (CBE)
An option available to confirming parties as defined GISB that allows the confirming parties to request that nominations be automatically confirmed. (NOTE: The default option in PASSKEY as defined by GISB is that confirmations must be confirmed manually [CBE disabled].)
Confirmation Level
The role of a confirming party: Operator (OPR)–operator of meter or Producer/Enduser (UDP)–upstream or downstream party.
Confirmation Requester
Transportation Service provider such as Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Midwestern Gas Transmission, or East Tennessee Natural Gas DUNs number.
Confirmation Requester Name
Transportation Service Provider name.
Confirmation Quantity
Confirmed daily gas flow in Dth.
Confirmation Party
The party (DUNS number) confirming the nominated quantities at a point.
Confirmation Party Name
Confirming party name.
Contract Term Status
An indicator used to denote the status of a specific term on a contract. Active contract terms are denoted with the letter "A." Inactive contract terms are denoted with the letter "I." The inactive contract term status is used to remove incorrect or inapplicable terms from the contract.
Contractual Flow
Indicates the logical direction of flow at a point from the perspective of the Transportation Service Provider. May be different from than the physical flow.
Current Month Payback
Gas nominated by an LMS holder, SA Holder, Shipper or non-Cash Out contract holder in order to correct an imbalance which has occurred during the current month flow.
Daily Overages and Underages
Part of the Load Management Service (LMS). It’s the difference between scheduled and allocated quantities on a daily basis.
Daisy Chain
String of up to five customers involved in the nomination and confirmation process: shipper, producer, supply aggregator, receipt operator, and delivery operator. This arrangement requires all parties to agree on each business transaction. If one link is out of sync with the proposed transaction, gas cannot be scheduled at the requested level. Then, the lowest volume in the chain drives what is scheduled.
Quantity of heating energy which is 1,000,000 British thermal units.
Deliverability
In gas storage, the maximum daily rate of flow out (withdrawal) of a storage field.
Delivery Quantity Limitation (DQL)
Maximum daily quantity of gas a customer can request at a specific delivery meter on any given day.
Delivery Rank
The scheduling rank (priority) assigned to the quantities on the upstream side of the flange at the delivery location. The system will allow ranking from 1 to 999. The default is 500, with 1 being the highest priority (last cut) and 999 being the lowest priority (first cut). Quantities with the same priority rank will be scheduled on a pro-rata basis.
Designated Swing
Party at a meter who is designated to take all swing (overflow or underflow) quantities. The designated swing contract can be an OBA, SA, FS or transportation contract.
Discount ID
Discount code assigned to a service requester for negotiated rate.
Disposition
Any volume allocated as going out of the pipeline such as:
- Delivery
- Injections into storage and, therefore, out of the pipeline
- Fuel use or loss
Downstream
Delivery located downstream or beyond a particular point or location, typically a meter station, in terms of physical flow of gas in the pipeline. The direction of the flow of the gas stream.
Downstream ID Code
Identifier of the business party who is receiving quantities of gas from the service requester.
DUNS Number
Identifier assigned by the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation used as the common code for a legal entity.
Elapsed Prorated Scheduled Quantity (EPSQ)
Portion of the scheduled quantity which has theoretically flowed up to the effective time of the intraday or hourly nomination confirmed based upon a cumulative uniform hourly quantity for each nomination period affected.
Electronic Custody Transfer (ECT)
Electronic remote control unit which sends measurement data to Houston via microwave. The electronic data is used for custody transfer purposes.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
Process that facilitates the transmission of electronic data by standardizing business practices to govern contents and timing of communications.
Electronic Delivery Mechanism (EDM)
Mechanism by which electronic data is exchanged. Requirements include a TCP/IP using a PPP connection, an Internet address, and protocols and tools that are Internet-compatible.
End Date/Time
The date and time a transaction is to be finished (includes century).
Extended Delivery Service (EDS)
Service extended to Firm Transportation customers that allows them to deliver gas outside the zone of their primary capacity.
Extended Receipt Service (ERS)
Service extended to Firm Transportation customers that allows them to receive gas outside the path/zone of their primary capacity.
Flexible Deliveries
A contract provsion provided to a limited number of pipeline customers with grandfathered FT-A contracts. Contracts with flexible deliveries are non-standard FT-A contracts in which the sum of the primary receipt volumes is less than the sum of the primary delivery volumes. These contracts allow primary deliveries to be made at selected delivery points.
Flow Date
Date of gas flow in the pipeline. When gas flows for only one day, the beginning and ending flow dates are the same.
Force Balance Indicator
Indicator used when a nomination is outside the tolerance level specific by the transportation service provider.
Force Majeure
Natural disaster or act of God that causes a major disruption of transportation service.
FT-A
Rate schedule providing firm transportation.
FT-Backhaul
Rate schedule providing firm transportation via backhaul from "eligible" points.
FT-G
Rate schedule providing firm transportation up to a maximum daily quantity of 10,000 Dth per meter for customers previously served by Rate Schedule G or GS and certain small customers of downstream pipelines. The schedule has a two-part rate schedule: (1) demand and (2) commodity.
FT-GS
Rate schedule providing firm transportation up to a maximum daily quantity of 10,000 Dth per meter for customers previously served by Rate Schedule GS or G or that meet the eligibility requirements. The schedule provides for commodity charge only.
Forward Haul
Transportation service in which the delivery point is physically downstream of the receipt point. The contractual path reflects the physical path of the gas.
Fuel
The quantity per day of fuel in standard units (Dth).
Fuel Percentage Rate
Amount of fuel, as a percentage of the nomination, that the customer owes Tennessee Gas Pipeline based on the zone of receipt and zone of delivery in which you are flowing.
Gas Day
Period of 24 consecutive hours beginning and ending at 9:00 a.m. Central Clock (adjustments are made for daylight savings time).
Gas Industry Standards Board (GISB)
Organization formed as a consensus standards organization open to all members of the gas industry for the purpose of developing industry standards that coordinate pipeline business practices and simplify the process of shipping gas across multiple pipelines.
Gas Processing
Removal of specific components of a natural gas stream. These components are normally ethane, propane, butane, isobutane, and natural gasoline.
GRID Common Code Database
Database of common industry-supported point codes used in the natural gas industry standard business practices. This database was developed by industry representatives and the Petroleum Information (PI) Corporation.
Hourly Nomination
Adjustment to a nomination on any hour of the day between 10p.m. and 8a.m. Transporter may adjust hourly flows from 9a.m. – 9p.m.; however, the nomination will be processed at the next effective intra-day cycle.
Imbalance
Volumetric difference when scheduled volumes are not equal to actual volumes delivered or received at a meter or group of meters for a given contract. This can occur for operational reasons, such as wells shut-in, equipment failure, or pressure problems.
In-Kind Exchange
Agreement allowing for the exchange (or swap) of gas received at one location for an equivalent quantity of gas delivered at another location.
Interconnect
Point on a pipeline where gas is delivered from or to another pipeline.
Interruptible Storage (IS) Service
Rate schedule providing storage on an interruptible basis to customers of Tennessee Gas Pipeline. This service includes space, injection, and withdrawal rights.
Interruptible Transportation (IT) Service
Service offered to customers under schedules or contracts which permits interruption on short notice, generally in peak-load periods, by reason of the claims of firm service customers and higher priority users.
Intraday Nomination
Nomination submitted after the chart-time nomination deadline whose effective time is 9 a.m. (evening cycle), 17:00 or 21:00 hours and runs through the end of that gas day.
Lesser Of Rule
An applied method of scheduling quantities. When confirming parties do not confirm nominated increases before the designated confirmation deadline and have not selected Confirmation by Exception, the final scheduled quantities must be reduced to the level of the latest scheduled quantities. When scheduling timely cycle, the latest scheduled quantities to be considered are the previous timely cycle quantities. When scheduling an intraday or hourly transaction, the latest scheduled quantities for that day. These quantities could have been scheduled at a previous intraday/hourly time or that gas day’s timely cycle.
NOTE: When scheduled volumes are reduced as a result of the lesser of rule, all affected service requester routes will receive the appropriate reduction reason code.
Location
Location where the daily gas quantity will be scheduled by the transportation service provider. It has a one-to-one relationship with a location proprietary code.
Location Data
Location where the quantity will be scheduled by the Transportation Service Provider.
Location Name
The Transportation Service Provider’s meter number.
Location Proprietary Code (Loc Prop)
Also known as "Meter." Instrument for measuring or recording the volume of gas that passes through it. Tennessee Gas Pipeline uses a zone-based rate structure that utilizes the meter for measuring volumes and identifying location. Meter numbers have an identifying prefix (These numbers are specific to the pipeline on which customer is flowing gas):
00 - Off-System (other pipeline)
01 - Receipt Meter
02 - Delivery Meter
04 - Fuel Meter
05 - Check Meter
06 - Storage Injection Meter
07 - Storage Withdrawal Meter
Logical Location
Assigned, non-physical point where gas may be allocated to a service package.
Long
Term used to denote when excess gas is left on the pipeline. Gas excess occurs when too much gas comes into the pipe or not enough gas goes out. The pipeline buys the gas from the shipper.
Maximum Hourly Entitlement
Contractual maximum delivery volumes required under a contract in a one-hour period. MHE = Maximum Daily Quantity (MDQ) ÷ 24 hours.
Maximum Storage Quantity (MSQ)
Maximum quantity of storage gas the shipper is permitted to have in storage at any time, as specified in the service agreement. MSQ is not less than 30 nor more than 365 times the MDWQ of the shipper.
Metered Volume
Best estimate of the volume taken through a meter during a specific period. Synonyms are Actual Take and Delivered Volume.
Minimum Term
Shortest term allowed. The term limitation can be dictated by the tariff or a policy.
Net Present Value (NPV)
Method used to award capacity from an open season. Capacity will be awarded to the bidder with the highest Net Present Value (NPV). NPV is determined using the formula found in General Terms and Conditions, Art. XXVIII, Section 5.2.
Net Quantity
On Tennessee Gas Pipeline, the fuel is taken out for injections, thus the net quantity will equal the requested withdrawal less fuel. However, on East Tennessee Natural Gas, the fuel is taken out on injection and withdrawal. (Storage Contracts only.)
Net Revenue
Method used to award bids for released capacity. Bids are awarded based on the highest net revenue (NR) using the formula found in Article III, Sec. 11.6 (C) of General Terms and Conditions.
Nomination
Daily volume of gas a customer requests as receipts or deliveries from or to a given location with a begin date and an end date. Each route is considered a nomination.
Nomination Quantity
Quantity of gas the service requester is asking to be confirmed.
Nomination Transaction
Request for gas on a contract sent by the service requester to the transportation service provider. This transaction initiates the nomination process.
Non-Recallable
For released capacity, the releasing party cannot recall released capacity for any reason prior to the expiration of the release. This term applies to the Capacity Assignment service.
Non-Releasable Indicator
An indicator used to identify contracts that are not available for capacity release. Currently, NET, CGT, SS-E, and SS-NE contract numbers are non-releasable.
Operational Balancing Agreement (OBA)
Contractual arrangement that balances a location by keeping scheduled volumes for other services whole and swinging excess or deficient actual gas flow to the OBA contract. (See Load Management Service)
Original Beginning Date
Original beginning date of the route prior to any overlapping confirmations and nominations that have been submitted.
Original End Date
Original end date of the route prior to any overlapping confirmations and nominations that have been submitted.
Override Indicator
Anytime a correction has been done, this box will be set.
Package ID
Service requester assigned identifier used to differentiate between discrete business transactions. (NOTE: The service requester can use this field to represent price, date, contract number, etc. Tennessee Gas Pipeline does not validate this field.)
Payback
See Current Month Payback.
Penalty
Charge assessed against customers violating prescribed service entitlements. A penalty is assessed to deter activities or behaviors for which the pipeline is incapable of providing service for or which jeopardize the integrity of the system.
Percentage Rule
Allocation rule that limits the customer to the specific percentage established by the rule. Only companies and packages with rules will receive allocations.
Permanent Assignment
Capacity assignment that results in the cancellation of the assignor's contract and the execution of a new contract with the assignee.
Point-to-Point
Nominations accepted at a meter level and having a receipt-to-delivery relationship.
Pooling
(1) Aggregation of gas from multiple physical and/or logical points to a single physical or logical point. (2) Disaggregation of gas from a single physical or logical point to multiple physical and/or logical points.
Pooling Area
All points of receipt within an area upstream of a pooling point defined in Article III, Section 14 of the Tariff General Terms and Conditions except that all points within the Texas Zone will be considered as a single pooling area.
Predetermined Allocation (PDA)
Predetermined Allocation method in which information is sent to the pipeline by receipt or delivery meter operators, producers, EU or shippers in order to specify the allocation rules to be used in allocating meter flow.
Previous Quantity
Total previously scheduled daily gas flow in Dth.
Pro-Rata Rule
Allocation rule determined by dividing the scheduled volume for each participant by the total scheduled for the meter, and then multiplying by the available volume. When there is a pro-rata, the volume is distributed across all service packages.
Quantity
The nomination amount expressed as a quantity per gas day in standard units (Dth).
Quantity Limitation (QL) Indicator
A special feature used to indicate contracts in which two or more contracts have total primary capacity to one meter that exceeds the Meter Quantity Limitation (MQL). Also indicates when one or more contracts have total primary capacity at a group of meters that exceeds the Group Quantity Limitation (GQL). In both instances, the volumes scheduled to flow to the specified meter(s) can be curtailed to equal the MQL or GQL defined within the paper contract(s) without loss of revenue to the pipeline.
Quantity Type Indicator
Indicates which quantity (receipt or delivery) is kept whole for fuel calculation purposes.
Quick Response
Confirmation of receipt of a PDA within 15 minutes by the allocating party. After the transportation service provider processes the nomination, a Quick Response informs the service requester about the status of the entire transaction. It may also contain a status of nomination line items grouped by contract in the transaction and/or a status for individual nomination line items in the original nomination transaction.
Quick Response Transaction
Response to the nomination request. This transaction contains the validation messages generated by the transportation service provider and informs the service requester if the nomination was processed and if any errors or warnings occurred.
Rank
The scheduling priority assigned to the quantities of up/downstream parties at a specific location. Priority 1 is the highest. Priorities (last cut) 2,3, etc. are descending order of priority.
Rank Order
Ranking by priority of nominated gas/routes by shippers. Tennessee Gas Pipeline uses this ranking during the scheduling process when nominations do not match. Gas is cut in priority order to ensure the transactions/nominations stay in balance. Priority 1 has the highest priority and priority 999 has the lowest (first gas to be cut). (If rank is not entered PASSKEY will default to 500.)
Rate
Single-part or multi-part price charged for services. Demand rates are typically assessed against the customer’s maximum daily quantity (MDQ) and charged whether or not gas is actually transported. Commodity rates are assessed on the quantity of gas actually transported.
Recall Rights
Right of the releaser to call back released capacity as dictated by the tariff.
Receipt Quantity
The quantity to be received per gas day in standard units.
Receipt Rank
The scheduling rank (priority) assigned to the quantities on the downstream side of the flange at the receipt location. The default rank is 500, with 1 being the highest priority (last cut) and 999 being the lowest priority (first cut). Quantities with the same priority rank will be scheduled on a pro-rata basis.

Contractual option that allows the placement of recalled capacity back to the replacement shipper.
Request for Confirmation
Request to confirm the quantities and dates specified in a nomination sent by the transportation service provider to the owner/operator. The owner/operator responds by sending a Confirmation Response either confirming the flow, or advising the transportation service provider of errors in the request or a reduction in the quantity that will flow.
Restriction
Method used to balance market demand for gas supply. This occurs when the demand for service exceeds a pipeline's capacity; therefore, a reduction of nominated flow is required.
Restriction Indicator
If the route is restricted, this box will be checked. See View Options Legend for Code descriptions.
Restriction Priorities–Transportation
Hierarchical list of priorities used when gas must be curtailed. The following lists the priorities from lowest to highest (first to last cut).
Retrieve Work In Progress (RWIP)
A processing function that allows the user to retrieve the pending changes from the Tennessee Gas Pipeline database for review before submitting.
Rolling Nomination
Nomination for more than one gas day, rolling from one day to the next until the ending date for the nomination.
Routing
Process of designating the specific routes or paths that gas is to follow from a receipt meter to a delivery meter. The customer specifies all receipt-to-delivery routes at the time of nomination.
Save Work In Progress (SWIP)
A processing function that allows the user to save work that has been updated but not transmitted. The updated row will be saved as pending in the Tennessee Gas Pipeline database.
Scheduled Daily Delivery
With respect to transportation service, the quantity of natural gas which is scheduled to flow with an operator during any one day.
Scheduled Quantity Transaction
Response to the service requester indicating that the requested quantities were scheduled. This transaction is sent by the transportation service provider once the gas has been confirmed by all parties involved in the transaction.
Scheduling
Process by which all gas nominated by the shipper is matched with confirmations to verify that all parties have the same number of volumes nominated. Any discrepancies are scheduled down to the lower of the two volumes.
Secondary Capacity
Any volume a shipper nominates above the shipper's contractual meter quantity within the path of that shipper's primary meters, up to the contract total quantity.
Service Requester
A nine-digit code that identifies the party requesting services on the pipeline or identifies that party’s agent. Also known as a D&B number.
Service Requester Contract
Formal agreement between two parties. Identifies the contract under which he service is being requested. Also known as service package or contract.
Service Requester Name
The name of the party requesting services. Also known as a Business Party.
Service Requester Proprietary
A six-digit code unique to PASSKEY that identifies a service requester.
Set Confirmation Quantity
A function which copies the quantity that appears in the Nom Qty field to the Conf Qty field.
Shipper
Any customer for whom natural gas is transported.
Short
Term used to denote when the gas amounts in the pipeline are less than expected as a result of too much gas leaving the pipe or not enough gas coming into the pipe. The pipeline sells gas to the shipper.
Solicited Confirmation
Confirmation of an existing nomination.
Solicited/Unsolicited Indicator
An identifier that indicates whether the confirmation line item is solicited or unsolicited
Status
Status of a nomination: Pending (P), Submitted (T), and Scheduled (S).
Storage Ratchet
A storage withdrawal level. The "Conditional Deliverability" contract option generally entitles certain firm storage shippers to three levels, or ratchets, of storage withdrawal rights. The ratio of the storage balance to the maximum storage quantity determines which withdrawal level the shipper can elect to use.
Supply Aggregation
Allows customers to aggregate nominations for supply within a pooling area for shipment to a confirmed transportation and/or other supply aggregation service. Also called Pooling.
Supply Area
Points on Tennessee Gas Pipeline's 100, 500, or 800 line upstream of stations 47, 542 or 834..
Supply Leg
The portion on TGP system, 100, 500 or 800 line, within the supply area.
Swing Rule
Allocation rule that requires up to two parties to be designated to receive the swing gas. This rule accrues all overages or underages to the party holding the OBA or other designated contract. All other parties on the chain remain whole.
Temporary Assignment
An assignment for less than the duration of the contract term or an assignment in which the releasing shipper retains some rights and/or obligations.
Term Effective Date
The beginning date that a special feature or negotiated term attached to a contract becomes effective. The Term Effective Date defaults to the contract/amendment effective date and can be updated.
Term Effective Through Date
Identifies the last day that a special feature or negotiated term attached to a contract is effective. The Term Effective Through Date defaults to "NULL" and can be updated.
Term Table
A table maintained within the contract system that names, describes, and sets certain requirements for negotiated terms and special features. Examples of negotiated terms are Sculpted TQ, Flexible Deliveries, Pressure, Pipeline Tolerance, and Amendable. Examples of special features are QL, AQL, Manually Approved Releases, Non-releasable, Recall, and Reput.
Tertiary Capacity
Volumes nominated in the supply area up to the customer's contractual transportation quantity (TQ) less secondary TQ on a supply leg. This allows customers to nominate on legs where they do not have primary points or to nominate over their secondary TQ on a leg, up to the contract TQ.
Timely Nomination
Nomination made for 9:00 a.m. Central Clock Time the day before the gas is expected to flow that was submitted prior to the daily nomination deadline (11:30 a.m. the day before gas day).
Tracer ID
Id number that is route specific and changes each tome a route is modified.
Trading Partner Agreement (TPA)
Agreement that represents a complete set of balanced terms that a company should accept whether it is a sender or receiver of electronic documents. It establishes all the data items necessary to exchange electronic documents in a step-by-step, fill-in-the-blank form. Must be executed by customer and pipeline before electronic data exchange can take place.
Transaction Type (TT)
Identifies the specific type of transaction.
Transfers-in-Place
Selling of gas inventory within the same storage field by a shipper with storage service to either the pipeline or to another storage customer.
Transportation Quantity (TQ)
Maximum daily quantity of gas which Tennessee Gas Pipeline agrees to receive (excluding fuel), transport, and deliver on a firm basis for the account of the shipper on each day during the term of the shipper's Transportation Agreement. Also known as Maximum Daily Quantity (MDQ).
Transportation Service Provider (TSP)
Identifies the party providing the requested service. The transportation service provider is also referred to as a pipeline, transporter, or seller.
Transportation Service Provider Name (TSP Name)
Organizational ID (Tennessee Gas Pipeline, Midwestern Gas Transmission, East Tennessee Natural Gas) of the party providing the requested service.
Transporter
A transportation service provider.
Unsolicited Confirmation
Quantity of gas that has been confirmed by an operator prior to scheduling by Tennessee Gas Pipeline.
Up/Down Name
Name of the party upstream or downstream of the service requester. Upstream identifies the party supplying the quantities of gas to the service requester. Downstream identifies the party receiving the quantities of gas from the service requester.
Upstream ID Code
Identifier of the business party who is supplying quantities of gas to the service requester.
Walking the Chain
Procedure used by the volume analyst to determine the status of a nomination to ensure all parties in a nomination chain have nominated and confirmed matching volumes. This procedure is accomplished using the internal PASSKEY System, as well as contacting customers.
Year
Period of 365 consecutive days beginning on the date natural gas is first delivered or is to be delivered under the gas sales, transportation, storage, or other contract, whichever is earlier, or on any anniversary date. However, any year that contains a date of February 29 will consist of 366 consecutive days.
Zone
A portion of TGP’s pipeline system which includes numerous receipts and delivery points that lie within a distinct geographic region. Zones are used for invoicing purposes in order to establish the proper rate to change for a transaction. Zones are also used to establish the secondary contractual rights.
Zone-to-Zone Rate
Rate commonly associated with a zone matrix rate structure in which the price of the gas is determined by the zone in which the gas was received and the zone to which the gas was delivered.
